THE RUBY TRADITION
Rubies have been called the "king of gems" in Sanskrit texts dating back 2,400 years. Ancient warriors wore rubies believing they made them invincible in battle. Burmese warriors would actually embed rubies into their skin before going to war.
We're more refined in our approach—but the symbolism remains. Ruby represents strength, confidence, the willingness to be noticed.
THE DESIGN BALANCE
Pairing ruby with colorless moissanite creates striking contrast. The ruby provides warmth and color; the moissanite provides ice and fire. The result: a piece with dimension and drama without feeling costume-like.
The Floral Motif: Five ruby petals surround a central VVS1 D-grade moissanite. The arrangement creates a rosette pattern—geometric precision meeting organic inspiration.
The Setting: Micro-prong setting in rhodium-plated sterling silver. The white metal makes the ruby color appear even more vivid through contrast. Yellow gold would warm the ruby; white metal lets it shine pure red.
THE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Stone Selection: Each ruby is selected not just for color but for clarity. Lab-grown rubies can be created with exceptional clarity—far clearer than most natural rubies which typically contain significant inclusions.
Stone Matching: All five rubies must match perfectly in color saturation. This requires sorting to find five stones that work together harmoniously.
Setting Precision: Each prong must grip the stone securely without covering too much surface area. Too much metal and you lose brilliance. Too little and you risk stone loss. Our jewelers have perfected this balance.
